October PINK Event

For the month of October, I am making as many breasts as possible. I would love it if others joined me!

Let's see how creative you can be. Your faux breasts can either be knit or crochet. Natural colors or funky, bright colors.

If you are on-board, please contact me, and I'll add you to the list of contributors which will allow you to post pictures or write blog posts.

Thank you!

Why this blog exists

This is a photo of my mom (on the right) and my cousin Melanie (on the left). Melanie was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer the summer of 2008. She had a double mastectomy in the spring of 2009, and is still going strong. She is an incredible fighter, this girl! The photo was taken a few days after her surgery.

Below, is a photo of knitted breasts for women like Melanie.

If you are a woman who is in need of a breast, please contact me (same way) about receiving a handknit breast for yourself.
